Pendennis Castle

Pendennis and its sister, St Mawes Castle, guard the entrance to the Fal estuary. Well preserved coastal fort built by Henry VIII c1540, and added to by Elizabeth I. a 'sight and sound' exhibition in the Tudor keep depicts a gun room in Elizabethan times. A display of uniforms and firearms in the museum. A guardhouse returned to its First World War appearance complete with cells. Secret defences, including the Second World War Half Moon Battery. Underground magazines and tunnels.
